We will send you a course description and information about participation. Then you must write back to us and state your reasons for enrollment. This may not be the easiest way to enroll. But your intent and decision must be carefully considered. Once you have selected a course you can contact or communicate directly with the specific course instructor. Letter of Intent: The “letter of intent” has become traditional and necessary as the years have passed. The intent carries the weight of thousands of years of ancestral yearning. Stipulate the course desired (see calendar for dates and tuition costs) with possible alternatives if there is already a waiting list. Deposit: To secure a place in any course we ask you to send in a deposit. You can do so by using the paypal or by mailing a check to the address below. About the deposit: The deposit is considered both a sign of commitment from the participant as well as financial support for the School for the considerable work done in organizing and enrolling the course. For both these reasons, the deposit is non-refundable unless the program is cancelled. Risk and Liability: Lost Borders carries an insurance policy with the Worldwide Outfitter and Guide Association which meets Region 5 (California) Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Park standards. This policy is a necessary adjunct to land use in NPS, NFS, or BLM administered areas. We can assume no responsibility for the behavior of students when they are alone in the wilderness. We do not condone the use of alcohol or any drug which impairs physical performance, alters consciousness, or deadens full alertness. The possible effect of prescription drugs on full participation must be discussed with a personal physician. Permits: All programs offered by Lost Borders that take place in the Inyo National Forest, Death Valley National Park, and the Eureka Valley are operated under special use permits.
