“To stop running is to enter the field of longing, to be fragile, to incarnate fully. Our longing is like Blake’s ‘golden string’, a barometer, a psychic timepiece that connects us to feeling, memory and landscape. Its tenderness creates an inarguable accountability, a ‘still, small voice’…but still knows what to shoot and what to feed, a nest of strange compassion.”
Martin Shaw
This ceremony is intended to serve those who have undergone a vision fast over the past few years
The challenges of incorporation are many and varied. Our longing to bring the story into reality is what spurs our unfolding. We may find ourselves experiencing events in our “normal” lives that mirror our self-generated ceremonies. How do we work with the unfolding of our story? How can our longing bring us into alignment with our intents? We will bring our questions, our successes, our failures, and our mysteries to the circle and take our longing to the land. Individual needs will be addressed and the group focus will allow us to learn from each other and the circle itself.
We will use the 4 shields to explore where we are in the incorporation process and to support the next steps. The intent of this ceremony is to look deeply into the threads of our lives and how they relate to our vision fast experiences. We will sit in council, take solitary walks on the land, paint, dance, tell and mirror stories. We will ask the land to guide us in the unfolding of our personal myths.
This seminar will take place at Cochiti Lake Campground, near Santa Fe, NM. We begin at 10am on the 30th of July and will finish around 3pm on the 4th of August. Miles of rolling hills and Desert Mountains are available for our explorations. There will be time to explore the sights of Santa Fe and to have a group dinner in town.
The School makes no provisions for meals or equipment. We ask everyone to come prepared to live self-sufficiently. You will need to bring shelter and clothing suitable for a full range of inclement weather.
